Many of you have asked why the frequency of Opine Needles posts has diminished. Well, no particular reason, other than earning a living; that and the reality of having to deal with four more years of this administration. Folks, these guys are bad; full stop. They don’t care about anything other than a new world order they wish to impose. The Constitution be damned. It will not stop the Obama Express.
So, in no particular order, let’s take a look at where we are.
I hate to say “I told you so”, but, I told you so! The President and his wise men are articulate. But here is a word they clearly do not understand; realpolitik. It means “”The study of the powers that shape, maintain and alter the state is the basis of all political insight and leads to the understanding that the law of power governs the world of states just as the law of gravity governs the physical world.” (Ludwig Von Rochau-1853)
When Mr. Obama threw Egypt’s President Mubarak under the proverbial bus, he had no idea what would follow. He and his minions naively thought a democratically elected Muslim Brotherhood would protect American interests (not to mention the Egyptian citizenry) in the region. It was the stuff of dreams. We said then and we say now, “it’s not a perfect world, and sometimes imperfect decisions need to be made.” We should not have pushed Mubarak out so precipitously; but since we did, and Egypt is now a completely chaotic mess, we need to do whatever we can to help the military maintain order, and prevent the Muslim Brotherhood from ever gaining the seat of power again. Egypt has been the glue holding peace together in the Middle East for 30 years. Egypt controls the Suez. We need Egypt. Wake up, Mr. President.
No, Mr. President, Benghazi is not a “phony scandal”. Dedicated public servants died because your administration refused to give them the protection they asked for. Then, to make matters worse, because you had already told the nation that “Al Qaeda (was) on the run”, you and your flunkies concocted a story and blamed some meaningless video for the attack on our Consulate. The last thing you could do right before the election is admit that you had been wrong about Al Qaeda. Shame on you, Mr. President.
The red line in the sand was an inane, blundering path to pursue. Once again, the President backed himself into a corner with nowhere to go. The American people do not want us to get involved in Syria; full stop. There is no end-game. We have no control over the rebels, and most of them hate us. There are some Republicans who want us to “go in”. They are wrong. American involvement in Syria would be a disaster on every front. The President’s decision to handle this decision without discussion or debate with anyone is foolhardy. Mr. President, stay out of Syria!
Obamacare has been an unmitigated disaster since it was rammed down the throats of all Americans three years ago. As flawed and bad an idea as it was (and is) it is now made worse by the President’s utter contempt for the law of the land. Because so much of the plan cannot be successfully implemented, the President has arbitrarily postponed key parts of its roll-out. Further, his carve-outs for cronies are unparalled in American history. That said, the Republicans should be smart about it. What exactly is the point of passing 40 different bills that defund all or part of Obamacare? The Senate will vote down every one of them. The Republicans need to step aside and let this thing hang like an albatross from the President’s neck. He will successfully blame the Republicans for its failure if they keep up their present course. All talk and no action is not a good long term solution.
The democrats are perpetrating one of the greatest frauds ever on the American people. They (with the help of the mainstream media) are trying to say that requiring an ID in order to vote is racist. What? Really? Here are just a few things people need ID’s for to live in today’s world.
A voter ID should be looked at as an empowerment; everyone with an ID has the right to vote! That is a good thing. One person; one vote. The idea that tens of thousands of Americans are disenfranchised by voter ID requirements is pure hogwash. In fact, there is now solid evidence showing that minority turnout in states that now require voter ID’s has increased in recent elections.
It is appropriate that we address this issue during the week of MLK’s 50th anniversary of the Washington DC speech. MLK was an inspiration. Was he a perfect man? No, but tell me who is. All MLK sought was equality of opportunity. Those who claim to have filled his shoes scream for equality of outcome. There is a huge difference. The modern welfare state is propped up by the notion that pursuit of equality of outcome is a noble goal. Let there be no mistake; we will live in a divided America until we have achieved equal opportunity for all, and we will never achieve equal opportunity for all as long as those leading the civil rights movement pursue redistributionist goals that do nothing but discourage people from seeking opportunity!
Our welfare system is a disaster. In dozens of states, the benefits earned by those not working (and not even looking for work) is up to 2 ½ times the minimum wage. In a wonderful bit of irony, the solution proposed by the left is to increase the minimum wage! No! The answer is to stop the endless gravy train, and back the American worker with job related investments.
Just as voter ID is a privilege, so too is work an empowerment. We need to turn this dialogue around and get it back on the right track.
Ask yourself this; have these men served the interests of African Americans well?
Can you tell me why this man is not revered by the African American community? He has lived the American dream. His hard work has borne fruit. He understands the difference between equality of opportunity and equality of outcome. The President does not grasp the difference.
This administration is incompetent. The office of the presidency needs to be surrounded with competent professionals (from all walks of life) with real world experience. This picture is worth any thousand words I can write.
There is so much going on at home and abroad, and none of it is good. We are being mismanaged. The President is massively bungling every leadership opportunity that heads his way. He digs holes for himself (and us) from which there is no easy extrication. I’m sure he is a nice, good man. But he is bad for our country. More to follow
Think Right. Act Right. Vote Right.
